Outlook 2007: Data File Did Not Close Properly, Being Checked...

Hi...

Even though Outlook 2007 seems to be working okay, I keep having this
balloon in the system tray appear over and over every time I run Outlook. It
appears, it goes away, and reappears. I can see that that "gear" icon is not
present, so it's really not doing any kind of checking. Furthermore, I used
scanpst.exe to repair the inbox - which it said it did - but I am still
getting this ballon message on the repaired file. Message
appears/disappears/comes back about every 10-15 seconds, and it's EXTREMELY
annoying.

Anybody?

Thanks!

Andy

Hi, Michael....

Yes, I DID...I disabled every one of them, and this problem still exists.

Andy and Others who are having this problem with Outlook 2007,

1) Do you have KIS (Kaspersky Internet Security) installed?

Apparently the anti-spam module is having issues when closing the
Outlook data file (or your .pst file is having problems with the anti-
spam) Thus, it results in an error that your .pst file didn't close
correctly and needs to be checked for errors. Like you, I got really
annoyed with this error.

Fix found here: http://forum.kaspersky.com/lofiversion/index.php/t30693.html

Option 1: uninstall anti-spam

Option 2: Download OLfix (Google it....Website is in the German
language but once program is downloaded it translates into English).
OLfix repairs errors in your .pst file. I tried the program, repaired
my data file and error went away.

Hope this helps.

I'm having same problem...just started within the past two or three weeks,
even though I've been using Vista and Office 2007 since February. I
agree--this is VERY annoying!!!!
