I think Outlook 2007 is changing the format of my Excel attachment when I
send the e-mail. I am sending the attachment as an .xls which is only 78kb's
and the recipient is recieving the e-mail with a .zip attachment. Is this an
Outlook thing or an e-mail server issue? Sender and recipient are both on
the same e-mail service, not sure what it is, it's a small work e-mail
service that also hosts our website. I used my Hotmail account with the
attachment thru the same Outlook and the same thing happened. Then I went to
Hotmail directly on the web, sent the attachment and it came thru unchanged
as the original .xls file. Help please.

you have an addin installed that is zipping it or if using exchange server,
its zipping it.

What zip software do you use? See if it has a zip feature. Also check
firewalls and antivirus/antispam applications.

I wasn't aware I was using any zipping software. How do I look for
this?

Look in your Start menu for "WinZip". Look in Outlook's Add-In Manager (or
COM Add-Ins) for anything with "zip" in its name.

I looked in the start menu and nothing, also nothing in the Outlook add-ons.
what am I missing.
