Outlook 2007 can't read emails

J

James Piper

In Outlook 2007 I cannot see the message body of a message that has arrived
in my inbox. The message preview in the right hand corner of the screen
shows text but as soon as I open the full email there is nothing in the body.
If I forward or reply to the email I am also unable to type in the body.

Usually caused by scanning incoming mail with an antivirus program.

I have the same problem. I have a laptop using wireless with Windows XP Pro,
Outlook 2007, & McAfee. I trned off email scanning and that did not fix the
problem. James, have you received a solution?

Sometimes just turning off the email scanning isn't enough. You have to
uninstall the AV software, and do a custom install leaving out the email
module.

More info... I also have a desktop USB-connected to internet that does not
have the problem. Same email from same sender... no issue on the desktop,
problem exists on the wireless laptop. XP-PRO, Outlook 2007, & McAfee on both.

More info... I connected the laptop to internet via USB, no change & didn't
expect a change. I uninstalled McAfee AV software... the problem still
exists: cannot read text - no AV involved. Switched to Outlook Express and I
see emails fine - all OK with XP Pro, Outlook Express, & McAfee. How is this
anything but an Outlook 2007 problem??
