outlook 2007 can't open hyperlinks in emails

I can't open links in my emails. when i do i get a message that says "General
failure. The URL was (whatever the URL is is here). Application not found.
So apparently i need to find the application?

When checking my IE settings I noticed that IE7.0 was not my default browser.
Everything works fine now that IE is my default browser...Than you.

Have you reset web settings yet?
