Outlook 2007 can not open a doc attachment.

I have run into a issue where Outlook can not open a word document
attachment. After double clicking on the attachment, an error of "file not
found" appears. Excel attachments open without a problem. The word document
can be saved and then opened.

I have checked file associations, disable virus scanning software, and
unchecked the DDE setting under the advance settings in the file association
dialog box.

The computer in question is running Windows XP SP2 with Office 2007 SP1. All
current patches have been applied.

Any ideas?

Tried clearing the SecureTempFolder already?

When you double click the file, do you see the file actually being created
there?
Can you open it directly from there?
Does the attachment open when using the Previewer function in Outlook?

Clearing the SecureTempFolder did not help. The attachment will not open in
preview mode and I do not see it being created. The only thing that happens
is a error stating the file can not be found.
