Outlook 2007 can not connect to exchange

I still can not connect to my exchange server.
There's always a message stating that my local network connetion does not
have default gateway or else, but when using oulook 2003,
everything is ok.
Any solution?
Tks.

I'm running into a similar issue. When Outlook 2007 starts, the wizard runs
to set up an Exchange mail account. In auto mode, it correctly finds my name
(from my login info) and Exchange server name, but then cannot log into the
server, sending back a message that says 'The name cannot be resolved. The
connection to the Microsoft Exchange server is unavailable'. I can map to
the server via Windows Explorer.

Any insights greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Check your network connection settings. The TCP/IP settings need to include a default gateway. Ask your network administrator if you don't know what address to use.

Sue,

Thanks for responding so quickly. In my situation (Vista Beta 2 build 5384
running Office 2007 Beta 2) , I do have a default gateway which is pingable
and which show up in ipconfig results. In addition, an XP client running
Office 2003 connects and logs in to the Excheange server correctly.

Any other suggestions you may have are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry, no other ideas at this time. There are other people having similar problems, so you'll probably want to lurk on their threads.

Don't know if this is still a problem. I had the same problem and eventually
found the solution. The RPC service was damaged on the client PC. Normal
network browsing and name resolution worked OK, until you tried to use
Exchange. Check that the registry entries under
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/RPC/ClientProtocols match those on a working PC.

Hi,

which of the keys in (HKLM/Software/Microsoft/RPC/ClientProtocols)
should I check??
I am having unfortunately the same problem with installing Office 2007
on Windows XP (by trying to connect to Exchange 2000).

Greetings

Stefan

In my case all the keys under HKLM/Software/Microsoft/RPC/ClientProtocols
were missing. I opened up the registry on another computer that was working,
exported the Client Protocols branch to file and imported the file to the
faulty PC. I can give you a note of the settings if you need them

Hi,

I have the same problem, I need to add the DNS from my LAN and the problem
is solved.
