Outlook 2007 calendar, can I turn off the automatic reccurence

In previous versions of outlook I could right drag an appointment to a
different date and then select copy to get 1 copy of the appointment. In
outlook 2007 this sets the new appointment up with reccurence setup
automatically turned on. Is this a new option? If so, can it be turned off?
