Outlook 2007 Calendar All Green

Hello:

I recently added a Exchange account to Outlook 2007. I have several POP accounts
under my Personal Folders. In the calendar associated with the Personal Folders,
I used categories to color-code appointments. When I added the Exchange account,
the entire calendar took on a green tint (see: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/micr...rs-in-outlook-2007-like-google-calendar-does/).
My bet is that this would happen with any additional calendar.

The question is: how do I get rid of that green tint? I want my normal colors
back.

Many thanks.

the tint is based on the overlay calendar that is in focus. Click on the
other calendar tab and the color changes... or click the arrow in the tab to
turn off the overlay.

Hello Diane,

Thanks. It seems that no matter what I do -- overlay mode, no overlay mode,
even unchecking the Exchange calendar in My Calendard -- the tint of my "Calendar
in Personal Folders" stays green.

Any other thoughts?

is the calendar in the navigation pane highlighted in green when its
checked?

tools, options, calendar options... is green your default color? you can use
the selected color for all calendars if you check the box under the color
selector.

Hello Diane,

Thanks for the reply. Ok. On closer inspection, it appears that the default
color is blue. Indeed, the calendar associated with the Exchange account
is blue. It appears then that this is the default or primary calendar. Another
disturbing thing is the all of the categories associated with the original
Personal Folders appear to have disappeared.

So, what I actually think happened was that all of the colors got purged
from my Categories. So when I view my original calendar it all appears as
the background color (blue or green or...).

Is there a way to restore my original calendar to using the proper categories?

Thank.s

Turns out the issue is simply with the Exchange account taking over as the
default Data File. Changing this back to the Personal Folders as default
returns all the Categories settings and colors. Unfortunately, it also forces
the Exchange email to go into my PST inbox. I will post separately to see
if this behavior can be changed -- I don't seem to be able to figure that
out.

thanks.

if the pst is default, everything will download to it - you can use rules to
move mail to a pst when you have exchange and pop3 in the profile but you
can't use rules to keep mail in the exchange mailbox if its not default.
