My backup in outlook 2007 has developed error message and keeps telling me
that the files are in use by another device or program. I am using the
microsoft backup tool.

I am not able to identify what is causing this but have adobe 8 reader
installed and Dragon Naturally Speaking version 9.5 professional but that is
not loaded at the time.

In the short term I have exported the .pst file but that takes a long time.

I know that my pst files are quite large over 2.2 gib and they are in local
directory and using windows vista business editiong

can anyone help as I am small business user and have no IT support and do
not use Server just stand alone outlook as my mail mail device and dont want
problems

should I transfer to windows mail?

It has the error message "0x80070021" cannot complete this process as
another process has locked part of the file"

I use Mcaffee virus and email but have not altered settings

I did install knowbrainer for dragon naturally speaking but sure that this
message is very recent?

I also installed Copernic Desktop which searches email and files so that
could be the culprit?

I am getting this same error code 0x80070021. I have disconnected the
bluetooth synch feature to my nokia phone and that has not worked. I cannot
establish what is doing this - norton maybe. It just wont let me copy the
file to an external hard drive.

Dont know where to go from here.

I eventually got it sorted. I got this error message when i was trying to
copy directly to an external hard drive. I tried again copying the file to a
folder on the c drive and then to the phillips external hard drive. Seems
pst files must be copied first to your C: drive and then you can do what you
will with them. Next task is to see if the file restores ok. I will just
try the same process in reverse.

Hope this helps

I disconnected and or uninstalled copernic desktop search and this solved my
problem.
