Outlook 2007 - Assign color category on import

Is there a way to assign a color category on import of iCal calendars? I have
multiple calendars to import and want to have them assigned to different
colors in the same calendar. (VB script would be fine)

Can you assign a color category to multiple items at the same time (e.g. all
the holidays)?

Can you change the default color of appointments so that the color is
different from the calendar (it tends to blend into the calendar)?

they should have colors assigned already. I don't thin there is any more
control over it.

Possibly use Automatic/conditional formatting. I think you can only apply a
condition to an "All Day Event" though. Look in View | Current View |
Customize Current view - automatic formatting.

Changing the default Calendar color might help but will only apply to the
default Calendar. Look in Calendar Options. You could use Categories and
assign a Category to everything or use Automatic Formatting again.

poor design by MS. Oh, well it is what it is.

you can't apply categories on import unless the category is already on the
item - you can add categories to a large group of items two ways - select
all, r-click, categories or drag and drop using a group by category view.

I see the issue is that you can't select all appointments from the
day/week/month view, but in the All Appointments view lets you select all the
appointments and of course change the category. So I can set the category to
all the appointments imported into the base calendar and then import the
other calendars into new calendars and assign the categories in the same
manner and then use the Move option to combine into one calendar.

if all items imported at the same time belong in the same category, I would
import them into the calendar you want them in and add the modified time
field (created should also work on imports) and select all of the items with
the same import time - should save you a few steps.

But since you are using an ical and outlook 2007, you can open it directly
in outlook 2007 (double click to open), apply the category and drag or copy
to the other calendar.
