Outlook 2007 and live.com email account

I have a live.com email account. I had Outlook 2003 and followed the
instructions provided by Microsoft to add the live.com account to Outlook.
Everything worked fine the first time.

I have upgraded to Outlook 2007, and the live.com no longer works. I
removed the account from Outlook and have not be able to re-created it.
Microsoft even removed the instructions for adding a live.com email account
to Outlook off of their support page. I didn't need Outlook Connector for
Outlook 2003, but was forced to download/install it for Outlook 2007.

The new instructions on the Microsoft support page for adding an email
accoutn to Outlook are so generic, they are basically useless.

Is there a way to use a live.com account with Outlook 2007? if so, is there
any place someone can go to get usable instructions?

It works the same way in 2007 as in 2003. But they are disabling HTTP
protocol access and you'll need to use the connector unless your account
support POP3 (paid accounts).

A poster named ..winston claims that Microsoft isn't removing
HTTP/WebDAV support until January 2009. Microsoft was going to remove
it at the end of June 2008 but decided not to because of all the stink
from users of freebie Hotmail accounts. Yet I cannot connect OE or
Outlook to my Hotmail accounts. I need to use Windows Live Mail (which
adds HTTP/Deltasync) or install the add-on to Outlook (alas, I'm still
back at OL2002 which the add-on doesn't support, so still not a choice
for me).

It seems that NOW you need to use WLM to replace OE or install the
add-in to Outlook 2003/2007 to access a freebie Windows Live Hotmail
account. Is this not currently true? If so, I don't know why ..winston
claimed DAV support would continue until Jan 2009 - unless maybe he was
talking about legacy freebie accounts (i.e., grandfathered freebie
accounts) that kept DAV access after the Nov 2004 cutoff. Maybe
grandfathered accounts get to use DAV until Jan 2009 but new accounts
created thereafter are NOW stuck with having to use Deltasync.

While there was all the hoopla about Microsoft removing DAV access to
switch to Deltasync, the non-grandfathered freebie Hotmail accounts
didn't have DAV access, anyway. So I don't see that they would have it
now. Grandfathered and paid accounts were able to use DAV and maybe
that's what ..winston was referring to. But, of course, paid accounts
get access to the POP/SMTP mail hosts so his comment would only really
apply to grandfathered accounts.

I was finally able to get it to work. My account originally configured in
Outlook 2003 was conflicting with the Outlook Connector accout. Once I
removed the account (Tools | Account Settings..., the Outlook Connector
account came through. Thanks for your reply.

As an FYI on the date HTTP accounts will be disabled. I don't know the
official word on HTTP access (only that the June deadline was extended
indefinitely) but a few people who had a working HTTP account lost access
within the last couple of weeks and the error says HTTP isn't supported.
