Outlook 2007 all combo list disabled

Running outlook 2007 under winXP pro standalone system no exhange server.
Current on all service packs.

I copied my .pst file from desktop system to note book as I have done many
times in the past, but this time the Help, search, current view and find a
contact drop-down lists are all disabled. I can't activate the input boxes
to enter a search value or anything else. I've tried repairing the file but
that doesn't help.

Any suggestions?

Are you using a pop-up blocker? TweakUI or similar? Some settings in it can
affect menus in outlook.
