Outlook 2003

I have just purchased a new Dell PC and am trying to set it up.
After installing McAfee Spam Killer and Privacy Service, followed by
Microsoft updates for Business Manager etc the following occurred when
starting Outlook.

1. Popup appeared saying there was a problem with the syntax or format of
the extension configuration file "C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\OFFICE11\ADDINS\msspc.ecf.

2. I clicked OK and got a similar message.

3. I clicked OK again and another popup appeared saying the same file was
missing or not valid and that the problem could be resolved using Detect and
Repair in the help menu.

4. I clicked OK and another box appeared saying Outlook could not be started.

I disabled the McAfee items but it made no difference. I tried a repair
installation of Office, also unsuccessfully. I removed and reinstalled Office
completely. This did not work. I then found the Update folder, deleted it,
removed and reinstalled Office….. now I am starting to get frustrated!
Does anyone out there have any suggestions please?

That add-in is for compatibility with Schedule+. DIsble it in the Add-In
manager and see if that makes a difference.

Try uninstalling McAfee completely and install Outlook first.
