Outlook 2003

I am unable to open emails or add items to my calender. I can update the
calender with my Palm hotsync and accept calender items from others but I
can't do it myself from my PC. I get an error message that says "the
operation failed". In email it says can't open item. I have deinstalled the
software and reinstalled and still get the same message. I have run outlook
for several years with no problems until this.

I set up a new profile and still have the same problems. Considering I have
reinstalled the software could this be spyware or worm of some sort?
