Outlook 2003 won't configure for the first time

Every time I try to startup outlook 2003 for the first time it opens and
shows a small window in the top left saying, configuring outlook
account_creating welcome message. Then an other box opens telling me my
Microsoft Exchange server is unavilable giving me the options to retry_work
offline_cancel. Retry dose nothing work offline brings up another box telling
me unable to open default email folder. this is the first time im opening
outlook 2003 and this is a stand alone computer. Please Help

Remove the reference to the Exchange Server in the Control Panel's Mail
applet.

Thank you Vince that did the trick. Im up and running and now can start
working.
