Outlook 2003 unable to save new calendar item

Using Outlook 2003 and have a number of shared folders
which I have owner permissions. This was working fine and
I could add new appointments to these calenders. However
it just stopped working - I can now edit existing calendar
entries on these shared calendars but cannot add new
appointments to them. I receive the following error:
The item could not be saved to this folder. The folder has
been deleted or moved, or you do not have permission. Do
you want to save a copy of it in the default folder for
the item?

I have checked permissions which are fine and there a no
limits on mailbox size. The mailboxes in question are no
bigger than 30MB. I have tried running repair and detect,
removing/reinstalling outlook, recreating user profiles
and have applied office 2003 service pack 1 but am still
receiving the same error. Can anyone help please?

I am experiencing a very similar problem. I have small business server 2003.
I am running Outlook 2003 on my laptop. I am running Outlook 2002 (office
XP) on my desktop. Everything was working fine until a couple of days ago
when I got the same message as you describe on my Outlook 2002 desktop.
However, my laptop Outlook 2003is still able to write to the calendar and
save new items.

Have you had any success in solving your problem?

I have the exact same problem for one user. With Outlook 2000, he
cannot add calendar items. He can edit existing ones. The same user
works fine on an Outlook 2003 machine - that is, he can create
calendar items if he uses OL2003. We're on EXchange 2003. Another
user (Secretary) has rights to his calendar but suddenly cannot add to
his calendar from her 2000 machine either. Any ideas?

Unable to save new calendar item in Outlook 2003.

I am getting an error when I try to make a new appointment. It says: Unable to save free/busy information.

When I go to modify an appointment it says: The item could not be saved to this folder. The folder has been deleted or moved, or you do not have permission. Do you want to save a copy in the default folder for the item.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this issue?

Thanks,
Sarah

Try clearing your Outlook Forms cache

Try clearing your Outlook Forms cache:

Click Tools > Options > Other > Advanced Options > Custom Forms > Manage Forms > Clear Cache. Whew!

Also make sure there aren't any disabled items:

Click Help > About Microsoft Office Outlook > Disabled Items > click on the disabled item, then click Enable.

Hope this helps, I was able to resolve my last 2 balky Outlook calls with one or the other of these techniques.
