Outlook (2003) Today

When I customize Outlook to "When starting, go directly to Outlook Today" and
then save the changes, it loses this preference upon cold booting. No matter
how many times I choose this and save the changes, it alway reverts to
opening with the inbox. How can I fix this?

You appear to have a damaged mail profile. Create a new one and point it at
your current data store.

I created a new profile, deleted the old one and the issue still remains -
that didn't fix it.
