Outlook 2003 stops responding

Outlook 2003 stops responding when I preview a message, open a message or
even just scroll through my Inbox. I have downloaded all of the latest
updates. I am using Windows Media Center as an O/S with Norton A/V 2005 and
Microsoft Anti Spy Beta on an Intel P-4 2.6 GHz with 1 GB RAM, 120 GB HDD 75%
empty. Any ideas why the program continues to hang.

Have you checked to see if there are multiple instances of Outlook running in
the task manager? Are there any error messages or numbers? Is there anything
showing in your application event viewer?
If you have AV scanning your incoming and outgoing email this could cause a
problem. You can disable that part without compromising security.
