Outlook 2003 stopped allowing outgoing messages

I've been using Outlook 2003 for several months and have never had any
problems with it.

On Sunday night (10/29), I received an error message when trying to send out
going mail (although it has continued to receive just fine). I have made no
changes to my system or to my email/outlook set up.

My provider is Comcast. Their technical support said that they do not
support Outlook 2003 and that they couldn't help me, but they did claim to
have made no recent changes to their email information.

On Monday morning, I received a bulk email from them saying they had just
upgraded their email services (how is that NOT making changes?). Is this just
coincidence? Or am I now out of luck in regards to using Outlook 2003 with
Comcast email?

If anyone else has resolved this issue, I'd love to hear about it. Or if
there are any Outlook versions (besides Express) that are supported by
Comcast, I'd be willing to try something different.

Thank you,

B

What is the exact text of the error?

That's a typical ISP line.
