Outlook 2003 sporadic send & receive problems

I have a machine running Outlook 2003 that is having problems sending and
receiving automatically at times (it works 85% of the time). I have Outlook
setup to perform a send & receive every minute but some times it doesn't. It
seems like this happens some times when receiving email from outside the
company. We have an Exchange 2003 back end and I never get error messages or
statuses stating that I'm not connected to the Exchange server. Also, I've
checked the event log and there are no error messages regarding this.

Does anyone have an idea on what the problem might be.
 
Try altering the polling interval to 10 mins, less than that can cause
resource issues
In any case email is not an instant media, unlike phone/fax
