Outlook 2003 & Smart Phone Issue

I have Vista Home Prem, Outlook 2003 and a Cingular 3125 smartphone. i have
always use activesync but I guess vista has an "upgrade" program that does
not work. I have been to many web sites/post but when I connect my phone
it see it fine but will only let me sync with Windows meda thing. How do I
get my windows mobil to sync with outlook 2003.
 
Install Windows Mobile Device Center. Connect your phone and run Windows
Update; it will offer to install it.
