Outlook 2003 slow response time

Email takes forever to get out of the Outbox. If you click on the outbox
folder it sends right away, but if you just send an email like normal, it
will sit in the Outbox for about 1 - 1/2 minutes before being sent.

Outlook syncs with our Exchange Server 2000. We have never had this problem
before. Like I said, the weird thing is that if you click on the Outbox
folder it will send right away, but if you don't it will stay in their for a
while before being sent out.

Any suggestions??? Thanks.

Check your Antivirus settings on how it scans emails. also
if there it a fireall on the end user's computer check the
same there! If none of this works you may check the way
you are authenticating.
