Outlook 2003: Slightly different problem with the Send button

I have a read lot of messages here from people that have either the
send/receive button not working or have an email message stuck in their
outbox. My problem is slightly different. I have also read the various
solutions suggested there but none work in my case.

When I click on Send or Send All nothing happens. The email remains in the
Outbox or is moved to the outbox if it was in the drafts folder. However,
when I click on the Send/Receive button then everything works normally just
as it should. So why does Send/Receive work (although I am glad it does) and
Send or Send All doesn't work? I appreciate any responses.

Thanks,
J.S.

Do you have "send immediately when connected" checked under your account send/receive settings?

No, I do not have "send immediately when connected" checked. A small update.
Send All does work as does Send/Receive. It's the Send button that doesn't
do anything - the mail stays dead in the outbox.

I checked my previous profile in which I did not have this problem and the
settings are exactly the same although the pst file is a different one.

Thanks,
J.S.

I've had the same problem. The only thing I have found that makes it work
is to restart??? Works fine then. Either MS has a bug or there is another
program open that is interfering with it I think.

Checking "send immediately when connected" solved the problem although in the
past the Send button used to work even without checking this. At least
that's what I think.

Restarting the computer didn't work for me but checking "send immediately
when connected" did. Thanks to those who responded in this thread.
