Outlook 2003 - shortcuts keep disappearing

I have recently upgraded my Small Business Server 2002 to
the release candidate 2003 version. With it came Outlook
2003.

If I configure the folder shortcuts in Outlook 2003 and
exit the program, then re start the program again, some
or all of my shortcuts disappear.

Has anyone else experienced this?
Is there a fix?

Thanks in advance

I have exactly the same problem. No public folder, no Exchange server
but my shortcuts disappear each time I exit Outlook.

I've found a file called outlook.xml in ...\Documents and
Settings\jenko\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook where it seems that
the shortcuts are stored: indeed there are the names of all my
shortcuts but I can't find a way to recover them....

I think I've understood what's going on, even if it is quite weird. I
was trying to configure a Shortcut Group named "BP's" and my shortcuts
disappeared after restarting Outlook as it is happening to you.
Then I changed the name to "BP" only, and now it's 2 days that my
shortcuts don't disappear anymore...

Maybe it was because of the ', which creates problems in the xml file
where shortcuts are stored... do you have some ' or other strange
character in your shortcuts names?

I'm still having the problem, and none of the things I renamed have
anything other than letters in them. I even took out the spaces.
Still seems to be doing it! What kind of things are you creating as
shortcuts? I am trying to link to other mailbox calendars contained
on our Win2K Exchange server.

I am having the same problem with one of my clients. I tried to creat
shortcuts with other user's calendars, but they disappeared at random.
I then added them to "My Calendars" as a shared calendar, but they als
disappear at Random. If I right-click on the shared calendar from th
file list, I have to remove the calendar from "My Calendars" the
re-add it.

I am thinking this is a problem that may require a patch!
If I find a solution, I will post it

Having same issue and it is annoying. Same discovery that it has something to do with the add calendar to favorites.

I looked at this closer and it seems that it is not only dropping shortcuts but all preference

Has anyone else encountered this

Is there a way to contact Microsoft suport without having to pay, given that this is a widespread problem
