I just recently started having this problem. If I move a message I want to
keep from my inbox to another folder, or if I delete a message, Outlook,
without notifying me, automatically sends a reply to the sender, but only the
sender. No text in the message area, just blank. What could be causing this
and how do I fix it? Any help appreciated.

*Every* message? In other words, if you send a message from whatever free
email account you want to use to yourself, does it happen with that too?
Does the Subject line get changed?

Yes. I tested with a message using my Gmail account to my regular ISP
account. The email, once received, behaved in the same way: if I moved it to
another folder, it fired an empty reply back to my Gmail address. Subject
lines have remained unchanged in all instances. This is not a life or death
issue, but it becomes a bit irritating when I have to explain that I'm not
really at a loss for words, just experiencing gremlins. I'm wondering whether
this sort of behavior is the result of some sort of subtle hidden infection.
Any ideas?

Ok, try this.

Exit outlook through File - Exit.
Wait about five minutes and then check the Processes tab in Task Manager
to make sure Outlook.exe is no longer running.
Go to Start - Run and run outlook /safe and try to reproduce the problem
again.
