Outlook 2003 PST Problems

I had a outlook 98 pst file which grew above the 2Gb Limit and got corrupt, I
have managed to recover 99% of the file and have decided to upgrade to
Outlook 2003.

In 2003 I have created a new PST file and imported the recovered data from
my 98 PST but all I get is a message across the top of each email saying the
"This is a message Header The full item has not been downloaded"

I have also opened the file from File > Open > Outlook Data File and have
the same problem

If I open the PST file in outlook 98 everything is readable.

Dose anyone have any idea why this happens and how I can view the full
message in outlook 2003.

Thanks for your help.

HI Neil,
outlook 2003 have another file format. It s using unicode.
But please follow this link to solve your problem with ol2003 you can also
use an old format in ol 2003.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/830336/en-us
And always remember not to come over the 2gb with the old format.
so you have to use the microsoft add in.

Andreas,

Thank for your reply, I have been through this and still no luck. during
some testing yesterday I found that if I unplugged the network card from the
computer you can view all the details in the emails.

very very strange.
