Outlook 2003 problem ...

Trish

Hi, we have a major problem with Outlook 2003, to the point we cannot even
open it. Before considering re-installing it, we would like to know the
following:
(1) how can we obtain a copy of our Outlook Contacts/Address book, given
that we cannot open Outlook?
(2) If we re-install Outlook, will it overwrite our address book?

Many thanks. Trish

1) Mail, Contacts, Calendar, .etc are stored in a file with a PST file
extension. Assuming that your operating system in Windows 2000/XP, you will
find the PST file at:

C:\documents and settings\<userid>\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook

Note: Local Settings is a hidden folder. Therefore you will have to
reconfigure Windows Explorer to show you all hidden/system files.

2) No.

PST files are sometimes set up to reside on non-standard location, not
to mention that there may be multiple PST files. Check Control Panel ->
Mail -> Data Files.
