After I open outlook 2003 it takes a while to look at my email messages. I
get a not responding. After about a minute or so waiting then it will work.
Same thing when I click on other email folders or emails. So if I click on
inbox I get not responding. I wait and then it shows my emails. Click on
email to read and get not responding, again I wait and it will open . Any
ideas????

Doug

First make sure you are connected to the Internet. Try disabling any
antivirus/antispam for both incoming and outgoing mail to see if that's the
hangup.

I will try that. It also does it when I try to read old mail that I have
already opened no matter what folder it is in.

I am having similar problems. When Outlook opens, the reading pane freezes
everything up. When I try to shut it down, open another email, or click on
anything, the system says not responding and freezes up. I have spent two
hours today to try to fix and no luck. I am running XP Pro with SP2. I have
tried registry cleaning, hard drive error bug cleaning, removing unnecessary
communication software, searched Mircrosoft website, purchased software that
didn't work, reloaded office, repaired office, and now I am communicating
with you. Have you had any further luck with repairing this issue.
Thanks

Sarge, move over buddy. Same problem. If you find the solution, clue me into
it.
I'm running Vista Business and Office 2003. Occasionally, the same thing
happens with MSWord.

Thanks.
