Outlook 2003 - Not including original message in replies and forwards

In the last couple of weeks (I'm not sure when it started,
unfortunately), Outlook 2003 has stopped including the original message
text of plain text emails in replies and forwards. Only the header is
included; the message body is missing. This does not happen if the mail
being replied to is HTML.

I haven't changed any settings. I used Detect and Repair, and the
problem remains. I am able to attach the original message with no
problem, but that doesn't really solve the problem of not being able to
reply inline.

I have googled until I'm blue to find a solution, but while a few others
seem to have experienced it or something similar, I have not been able
to find an answer.

Are you saying that when you click Reply to a Plain Text message than the
compose window that appears contains the -----Original Message ---- line
followed by the headers, then nothing else?

That's exactly what was happening.

After posting my message, I started experimenting. I thought it might be
Xobni, but uninstalling made no difference. I tried uninstalling other
addins also, but that didn't help either. Detect and Repair didn't help.
Restarting Outlook didn't help. Restarting the computer didn't help.

Finally, I remembered I was running Quote-Fix for Outlook, so I
terminated it. That didn't help either, but when I restarted
Outlook--with Quote-Fix running, mind you--the problem was gone.

I have no idea what caused this, and I'm at a loss to explain why
terminating Quote-Fix separately appears to have fixed it.

I guess it's a mystery for the ages. I appreciate your reply. Thank you.
