Outlook 2003/Norton Antivirus 2004 - Scanning notifications

Greetings all

I would appreciate any guidance with this particular problem.

I have recently installed Office 2003. With regard to Outlook 2003 I
now get no notification that my Norton Antivirus 2004 software is
scanning incoming and outgoing emails. I have checked Norton Antivirus
and all the boxes etc that need to be ticked are ticked.

Does anyone know of any incompatibilty problems between Outlook 2003
and Norton Antivirus 2004? Or perhaps there may be something in
Outlook 2003 that I may be missing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Happy New Year to you all!!

I believe that the Norton scanning now takes place in the background since
there were many imcompatibilities with previous versions and Outlook - such
as changing the incoming server to localhost.

This is true. Make your Outlook window smaller, then send an email. You
will see the Norton 2004 scan notification popup in the bottom-right, just
above the Notification area. I really don't like this. But that is a
matter to be taken up with Symantec, not Microsoft.

By the way, I never had any problems using a version of Norton Antivirus
along with Outlook.
