Outlook 2003 - N2K problems

I have a user using Outlook 2003 on an Exchange mail system. Everything was
running fine until this morning when his auto-complete stopped working.

He has a 505kb .N2K file that has his auto-complete information stored but
it doesn't seem to be seeing it.


I've restarted his computer. I've removed his mail profile and then added it
back with a different name and renamed the .N2K file accordingly. I've turned
off the setting. I've turned it back on. All to no avail.

I've tried renaming it while Outlook was running and I couldn't because the
file was in use. Which means Outlook is seeing the file and is using it, but
isn't using it, if that makes sense.


Is there anything I've overlooked or anything else I can try to get Outlook
to see this file - a file it was seeing fine through Friday afternoon ??

Well, if I've copied the original N2K file out of the directory, the new
profile will create a new N2K file upon sending my first message.

If I leave the original N2K file there, it doesn't see what is in it but it
will begin showing new addresses I send messages to - addresses that I know
weren't in there orignially.



I have no problems sending messages to peoples in my contacts by typing
their first name, for instance, but the auto-complete just doesn't work for
whatever reason.

And does the autosuggest feature works again then?

There you go. As I said; you can't restore a nk2-file like that. Once its
link with Outlook get broken you can't fix it anymore and you'll need to
recreate the mail profile.

So, there is no way to use the original .N2K file? Can you import it, per
chance?

There you go. As I said; you can't restore a nk2-file like that. Once its
link with Outlook get broken you can't fix it anymore and you'll need to
recreate the mail profile.
