Outlook 2003 - much of print dialog is greyed

Outlook 2003 (11.6359.6408 SP1) on Windows XP Pro SP2.

When the user selects more than one item in a folder and initiates the Print
dialog, for Memo Style almost all controls in the dialog are greyed out and
unchangeable. E.g. the name of the printer cannot be changed from the system
default printer, the printer properties cannot be accessed, Page Setup and
Define Styles buttons are greyed as are Number of pages and Number of copies.

The OK and Cancel buttons work, but not much else.

When a single item is selected, the print dialog is normal for some items,
greyed
out and inaccessible for others - I haven't figured out a pattern for this.

This problem does not occur on at least one other computer with the same OS
and same version of Outlook that I've looked at.

It does not matter which printer is selected for the default and the print
dialog operates normally in all other applications.

Thanks for any help.

Looking closer, the pattern seems to be:
- any single Plain Text message - print dialog OK
- any single message with HTML in it - print dialog greyed
- any multiple messages selected, all plain, all HTML, or a mix - print
dialog greyed
