Hi
I've recently purchased a Windows XP workstation with Outlook 2003.
Upon connecting to the exchange server outlook downloaded all email for
all the folders except the Inbox. I don't know where the Inbox mail is
gone. Also the new mail is appearing Inbox and getting moved to a black
hole. Is there anyway to prevent Outlook 2003 from this behavior of
moving/deleting Inbox entries? I checked junk mail folder and couldn't
find any email. I haven't set up any rules yet.

Thanks for your help.

Do you have mutliple storage roots showing in the folder list? It sounds
like you might have a PST file as well as an Exchange mailbox configured and
your profile is set to deliver new mail to the PST file instead.

You can check this by going to Control Panel -> Mail.

You also could have a rule or aggressive junk email settings that are moving
the messages.

I have a POP3 Inbox and an Exchange Inbox. The POP3 Inbox looks fine.
It is the Exchange Inbox that is not showing all the mail present and
past. When I view the mail from Web I see the latest messages listed
under one Inbox. Why aren't there 2 Inbox's? Also the mail disappears
upon refresh. Where is the mail going to? If it is set to PST file, how
can I recover it ?

Do I check properties or open the Mail icon?

Many thanks for your help.

How can I turn them off?
