Outlook 2003 hangs on exit

Outlook 2003 installed on a fresh winXP pro desktop hangs
on exit. The tray icon remains after closing outlook and
process continues to run in task manager.

I've seen the same issue posted all over the net and no
resolution can be found. Any help is greatly appreicated.

for this reason, upgrade to office 2003 has been
postponed corporate wide.

I had this problem also. I had to close outlook, remove
my default mail settings through the mail settings in the
control panel, open outlook, create a new profile, and
import from my original .pst file. This has been working
so far. My install was an upgrade and that problem was
immediate
