Hello Outlook Community
I installed Outlook 2003 about a month ago, upgrading from 2000. Yesterday it decided that it could no longer retrieve email. It starts, and downloads 1 or 2 messages and then it hangs -- every single time. I have to kill it with Task Manager. I am able run it in safe mode and retrieve email, but that is a real pain. Safe mode doesn't remember your configuration, and has to be started from the command line
Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening, and how it might be fixed? I am running Win XP Pro on Dell Inspiron w/1 gig memory and 20 gig hard-drive w/about 3 gigs free space. I have recently scanned the entire disk for viruses w/an up-to-date version (prog & data) of McAffee. I have one Exchange account and three pop3 accounts that I use Outlook for, and have been successful with this for years until I upgraded to Outlook 2003. It usually hangs while retrieving from one of the pop3 accounts, but I can't say for certain that this is always the case
Oh, yes... I also ran SCANPST on all of my Outlook files. It said every one of them needed repairing (this seems kinda bogus, because I didn't have any problems opening or navigating any of my folders), and it said it repaired all of them, but this didn't fix my problem
TIA for any help or advice
