Outlook 2003 freezes when downloading email?

I have a domain name and an email account on it. The mail works well with the
web interface provided by the provider but does not work well with Outlook.
Outlook freezers whenever I try to download any mail with attachment of
about 100kb or over. In an attempt to solve the problem I set Outlook to
download only email headers. It still hangs whenever I try to download the
rest of a mail.

Please do you know how I can solve this problem?
 
If you have a virus scanner that integrates with Outlook, disable this
integration and try again.
