Outlook 2003 Flags Question

Just curious how other people are solving this problem.

I would like to:

* Flag emails in my inbox as they come in for follow-up
* Use the "Follow-up" quick search folder to manage the high prioity
items I have highlighted
* Clear the flag and move the email to an archive folder once I have
dealt with it

The problem occurs in the last step. If I am working out of the
"follow-up" search folder, when I clear the flag, it automatically
disappears from the "follow-up" folder (it is no longer flagged for
follow-up) and so I cannot easily move it to the archive folder. If I
move it first, I then must go to the archive folder and find it to
clear the flag.

Any thoughts?

Try visiting one of the programming groups as what you want to do will have
to be accomplished by using code to capture the mail and move it prior to
its removal from the search folder view.

Thanks for the reply -- it's an interesting conundrum to me because it
seems to indicate that Microsoft does a really good job coming up with
features, but doesn't actually *use* them before releasing the
product...

Anyway, one (unclever) workaround I came up with: double-click the
message in the "follow-up" quick search folder, and do what you need
with it (reply, etc). From there you can clear the flag (using the
flag icon) and move the item (using the Move to Folder button).

Inelegant, but it's about 60% better than the alternative..

I will check out a programming group. Thank you.
