Outlook 2003 - Exporting mail folders & Incorrect mapping

Using Outlook 2003, when I attempt to export a single folder of archived
emails (in a pst file), I cannot obtain the fields I want in the export file.
The output has a few fields which I want (to/from/subject/body), but the
field mapping dialogue in the Import/Export Wizard does not display all of
the fields required ("date" for example). The mapping dialogue also displays
other fields which appear to be from an improper form (like "mileage"), but
the list of fields is very limited.

I upgraded from Outlook 2000 to 2003 - is there a problem with my pst file?
It indicates "Personal Folders File (97-2002)", but I am not sure if that is
the problem.

It seems as if the problem might also be that Outlook is attempting to
export using fields from the wrong form - but I don't know where to change
that.

Any help would be appreciated.

The pst you are using is in the old format, which has a size limitation. ie
greater than 1.6gb can give problems and at 2gb can become corrupt

Are you exporting to another app?

Can you upgrade the pst format? I was surprised it didn't upgrade
automatically when I upgraded to Outlook 2003. I couldn't find where/how to
do that anywhere?

I was exporting to excel in this case, but any export effort to other file
formats gave the same result.

No the pst file is not upgradeable. You need to create a new unicode pst, if
you don't already have one and copy data from old pst to new. Be aware the
new pst is not readable in earlier version OL.

Maybe you are exporting to an existing Excel file?
