Outlook 2003 error and restart when send-recieve button pushed

When starting Outlook 2003 or when performing send/receive synchronization,
Outlook generates an error message and restarts upon sending the error
report. Error Report: ModName is: outex.dll, Offset: 0006c138
 
Is the latest Service Pack installed?
There is a post SP2 hotfix that replaces outex.dll but it might also be in
SP3.
 
SP3 is installed. I do have two quarantined TrojanMDropper viruses in my
Symantec Virus scan.
