Outlook 2003 Email Attachments not opening

We are running Exchange 2003 using Outlook 2003 as the client on XP Pro PC's.
We have come across several instances where if someone sends a recipient a
message with an email included as an attachment, the email attachment can be
opened once but trying to open it a second time results in Operation Failed.

Have tried rebooting, deleting and creating new email profiles and running
Detect & Repair to no avail.

Any suggestions as to how to correct this?

Is the sender also within the same Outlook-Exchange organization? If
so, are you using rights management, like using a Rights Management
Server, so the sender can control how and when the recipient (using
the same RM server) can view a message?

Have you asked the problematic users to load Outlook in its safe mode
("outlook.exe /safe") to ensure some add-on isn't screwing over
Outlook? If that doesn't work, have then reboot into Windows' Safe
Mode (with networking enabled) to ensure something the load on Windows
startup isn't interfering with Outlook, like their anti-virus,
anti-malware, anti-spyware, or other security software.

I had the same problem as well until someone in this forum suggested that I
un-install Google Desktop Search. I un-installed it and now I am able to open
e-mails that are embedded within / attached to other e-mails in MS Outlook
2003 SP3.
