Outlook 2003 doesn't remove messages from server

Yes, I have set and checked the option to "remove messages from server".

That is the first problem.

I went to "detect and repair". I get this-----

ERROR 25090 problem with office source engine error -2147023838
Look for office source engine in setup.chm under program files/ms
office/office11/1033.

I opened the .chm in notebook and can't find a hint on what to do

To solve that error try starting the Office Source Engine manually from
Services if you have that entry.
You might need to purge your mailbox by downloading all messages there with
another application before Outlook will get new messages only.

locate the Office Source Engine service, right-click then Start.
