Outlook 2003 Does not unload

Os: XP Professional
Product: Outlook 2003
Office 2003 Pro

Problem:

Outlook is activated and works fine. When Outlook is
closed/exited the Icon on the task bar next to the clock
no longer functions. Right clicking or left clicking have
no effect. The only way I can remove it is to use the
Task manager and stop the process.

I have:

Used the Detect and Repair feature under the help menu.
Did not work.

Uninstalled and reinstalled the Outlook portion of
Add/Remove module of the control panel.

Are all your add-ins Outlook 2003 compatible? Do you use any software that
integrates with Outlook like synchronisation software? Closing this
application will let Outlook close as well.
