Outlook 2003 displaying html in plain text

On Vista, Outlook 2003 is automatically converting email addressed only
to BCC addressees in plain text and will not allow conversion back to
the html graphic view.

The message looks like the encoded format with the html code and the
uuencoded graphics.

If the message has a To addressee the message displays fine.

The originator of the mail is using Incredimail software on XP SP2.

Please advise on how to allow Outlook to display message graphics.

I'd guess this is an Incredimail issue personally. Can you try removing
Incredimail as a test, and see if the problem goes with it?

I don't have Incredimail installed on the pc. The issue is when I receive an
email in Outlook 2003 from someone who uses Incredimail to send the email. I
can go to Windows Live Mail online and the email is formatted correctly.

Similar problem Outlook 2003. Converting all messages to plain text. Also
finding links in messages are not working. Click on them and it comes up
saying it is blocked or it doesn't open the link. Was fine until a couple of
months ago.
Not using Incredimail etc and not receiving mail from people who do use it
either.
Very annoying LOL

I have the same problem and am looking for a solution also.

This sems to be a problem with OL 2003 on Vista and I reported it to
Microsoft. I don't know when a solution will be forthcoming.

Similar issue:

My receiving computer is a new Toshiba Laptop with Vista Premium Home and
Outlook 2003 with the Windows Live Connector module using my Windows Live
address.

Symptoms: HTML Tags are displayed instead of active HTML code.
Non-printable ascii control characters are displayed as hexadecimal
equivalents - making the message body all but unreadable. When viewed with
web mail at Windows Live the HTML messages display perfectly. When viewed on
my other system with Win 2K SP4 and Outlook 2002 the messages display
perfectly.

Most e-mail messages come through fine. About 3 senders have this issue
with about 70% of the emails they send me. 2 senders have it 100% of the
time. One of these uses Incredi-mail and one is on exchange server. Turned
off e-mail scanning in Outlook 2003. Turned off e-mail scanning in McAfee
Security suite.

This has gone way past annoying and the fact that this thread has been open
since October makes me think that support for outlook and web based mail
accounts may not be a high priority. I have used Outlook for 15 years and
really don’t want to go to web based e-mail because of a bug.

This will happen when you receive a message via Bcc. Microsoft is looking
into it. However, if you could send me one of the offending messages as a
..MSG attachment, it would help. Microsoft has asked for a message in that
form and none of the people who have reported this issue has responded to my
request for one in that format.

I don't have Vista so I can't send a MSG file, but I have a listserve that is causing this issue for a user on Outlook 2003 and Vista. I could set you up on a test listserve if you'd like to test email directly from this software.

But you can get one from one of your subscribers.

I can't test mail from the software. I don't have OL 2003 on Vista. Have
one of your subscribers zip up a .msg file for you and you can send it to
