Outlook 2003: Displaying envelope in taskbar for filtered e-mails

E

Eric Baber

Hi all,

When an e-mail arrives in my inbox the envelope-symbol is displayed in my
taskbar. However, I have a few filters set up that filter e-mails from
particular senders into sub-folders of the Inbox. When e-mails from these
senders arrive and are filtered into their relevant sub-folders, no envelope
symbol appears in the taskbar. Does anyone know if I need to enable this
feature somehow, and if so how?

Thanks

Eric

I've just found out how to do it in case anyone's interested. When setting
up the Rules it's one of the options. Once you've told it the criteria (i.e.
From a certain person....) you tell it what to do, i.e. "Put it into the
Folder...". You also need to select another option, "And display desktop
alert".
