Hi,
Outlook 2003 and Exchange2007:
On all our new Outlook2003 clients, after reboot, everytime at startup
Oulook automatically creates a backup profile, so that under profiles there
are now numerous profiles called "backup of Outlook", "backup2 of Outlook",
"backup3 of Outlook" and so forth present. How can i stop this behaviour?
Thanks,
Rene

More information is needed or maybe these questions will give you a push in
the right direction since this isn't normal behavior...

1) How is Office/Outlook 2003 installed? By this I mean, was it installed
via Active Directory GPO using an MST that was created via CIW? Installed
via Active Directory GPO computer startup script? .etc

2) Do you have any type of logon script that creates an Outlook profile for
new users logging on?

Outlook was installed as standalone since the clients used to be part of a
workgroup.
Now they are member of a SBS2008 domain, and yes, the login script created
by the SBS2008 setup automatically sets up the outlook profile for exchange
on the clients. This might be the cause of the problem, but it only is a
problem for clients with outlook2003. outlook 2007 is fine. The thing is,
that the process during logon is not very transparent for me, and i cannot
find a simple logon script where i can edit these settings.
Thanks so far,
Rene
