Outlook 2003 Contacts

I have read several threads on exporting and importing contacts in Outlook
2003. The threads state that you don't export/import contacts. The
recommendation by the MVPs is to

1. open a PST on computer1
2. drag/drop contacts into PST
3. copy PST to computer2
4. open PST on computer2
5. drag/drop contacts into computer2

That is the way I would do it as well, however, I have 600 Outlook 2003
clients that want the same contact list. Is their a third party tool that
will allow me to create a set of contacts in my Outlook 2003 client and then
port it to my 600 Outlook 2003 clients without my customers getting involved.

Thanks for the assistance,

How are the 600 clients related to each other - IE are they on the same
network???

You could put all the Contacts in a Public Folder and they can access them
there. Or use a shared mailbox. You'll need to explain a lot more about
the 600 clients to get a good answer.

I hope this helps you at least a little bit!

In addition to Judy's question, I have one: are these 600 clients all using
Outlook?

Thank you very much for the reply...

In my original post I stated that all 600 clients are using Outlook 2003. I
apologize to you Judy for not mentioning they are all on the same network. I
did however mention that I did not want any of my 600 Outlook 2003 customers
to have to do anything. One day they come into work and their Contacts
folder is populated with the new contacts.

With that said, Public Folders or a shared mailbox are not a solution for
me. This is why I asked if anyone has heard of a third party
application/utility to assist with this need.

Thank you again for your response.

Forgive me for saying it but that seems like a stupid methodology. You are
going to give each person a 600 contact database and they will each change
it and it will never again be the same.

Why don't you want to have a centralised single point of storage, ie a
Public Folder?
