Hi
is outlook 2003 compatible with 2000? I assume it is, but i copied and
pasted some on to a cd (from 2003) and the person i sent it to runs 2000.

I've today been told they won't open and that i should send them agian in a
format suitable for 2000. Trouble is, there are about 400 of these to do!

Anyways, any comments gratefully receievd

No, when you use an UNICODE pst-file you are not compatible with any
previous version of Outlook. Also saving the messages as an msg-file will
not work. Any other format will do. For instructions to be compatible see;

Outlook 2003 is backward-compatible with Outlook 2000. That means that
Outlook 2003 can use the same data files that Outlook 2000 used. Outlook
2000, however, is not forward-compatible with the new Outlook 2003 PST
format. Outlook 2000 cannot use the new Outlook 2003-format PST.

In Outlook 2003, create a new PST with File>New>Outlook Data File>Outlook
97-2002 Personal Folders File. Copy the data in the extisting PST to the
new one you've just created and that one will be usable by Outlook 2000.
