Outlook 2003 autoarchiving by itself

L

Len Chaston

I have a folder for each construction project I manage. All read mail is
filed there. The folder is autoarchiving messages after one week, even
though the Properties of the folder are set to "do not autoarchive". If I
need to find mail older than a week I have to search for it.
So maybe the messages are still in the folder but the view is set to just
show messages within the last week?
Any help appreciated.

If they are being archived they would be in the archive data file, have you
looked in it?
If the archive set is not open, within the tree view, open it
(File>Open>Data File)
You can reset the view for the current folders

Why don't you look at what view you have set? Either click View>Arrange
By>Current View and excamine what you have chosen or right-click an empty area
of the toolbar and check "Advanced", which will add a toolbar contain a View
drop-down. I bet you have "Last Seven Days" chosen as your view instead of
"Messages".
