Outlook 2003 Attachment Problems

Hi,

Does anyone have problems with sending attachments from Outlook 2003, I am
ok except when I try to send word .doc files, I get an SMTP Timeout message.
Does anyone know how to resolve this or is another one of those stupid
Microsoft things.
