Have a client with 50 users about to convert to Exchange from pst's. Most of
the pst's are now at approx 2gb. Some of the users are remote and are not
part of the AD, and so a group policy to archive will not work for everyone.
Have 3 questions:
1. I would like to archive by years; ie, create a separate archive file for
every year. This way I will have several small archive files instead of one
large file. Is it possible to archive using command line arguments? I
would like to automate a process of scanning the pst for errors, fixing if
any exist, and then archiving.
2. Is it possible to accomplish the same using a customized install of
Outlook using the Resource Kit, and then doing an upgrade install on each
workstation?
3. I noticed while archiving one of the pst's that while the archive file
increases in size, the post does not decrease. Is this normal? Does the
file not be defragged like an Exchange priv file with a specila utility?
Any help will be appreciated!
